On My Way to Santa Fe
I am rushing to get started on a quick trip to Santa Fe. Never been there before. My banker use to live there and sent a great top 10 to do in Santa Fe list…. We are excited to see the Hot Air Balloons by the hundreds that are there this week.
Follow up:
My daughters have fall break and now that I am back from Leadership Texas we are taking much needed family time and are piling up in the car to drive to Santa Fe. It will be a full day before we arrive....lots of conversation, excitement about what we are planning on doing while there.... we also have or IPOD's powered up and loaded up. Books in our bags. A computer to help stay connected to both my companies and to my husbands’ job. You can't seem to get away without technology. At least I have not worked that out. But as a 21st century family we are pretty well connected to one another. We make time to talk and answer questions and post questions and thoughts for seeds to future conversations.
We are celebrating a family birthday while away. This thought was on my mind…. How many birthday’s will you have the opportunity to share with your kids before they become adults and have kids of their own? Or jobs of their own? Living in different cities? No matter how old your child is…. Or how much they don’t want you to fuss over them….. make their birthday special. They will remember those special times and events when they are adults and the pressure of adulthood is on them and their families.
It doesn’t have to cost a lot of money either. So many people get caught up in the parties and gifts.
Keep focused on the event; birthday, the special event... How creative can you be to make the impact on the special day? To make your child feel special to you and to your family. You just never know what the future holds. And the memories you can make today stay with them for life. The memories and heartfelt impressions are what come back as their memories. Create memories with your child and your family now.
