Larry the Driver

I met Boaz last year and am on his CEO NewsBlast. I completely love his stories and found that this one is one to be shared.... As far as Boaz and his ability to produce an engaging presentation .... he is your guy!
Please read his message:
I know that there has been a lot of media coverage recently about Joe the Plumber and his affect on the race for the U.S. Presidency.
During these challenging times in our economy, I think it is valuable to talk about people who are simply working hard to get through the moment.
I present, for your consideration, Larry the Driver.
On my way to a seminar near Winston-Salem the other day, I flew into Atlanta where I would spend the night before flying to North Carolina the next morning.
When I was picked up by the shuttle for the hotel, I immediately realized that there was something special about the driver.
He was outgoing. He was smiling. He was upbeat. He made me feel special. I found out that is name was Larry.
I am genuinely interested in other people and Larry got my attention immediately with his attitude. I found out that he has lived in Atlanta his whole life. He has three kids. Two of them are grown and a third, a teenage son, lives with him.
During the day, Larry related, he works in Downtown Atlanta at a men's clothing store. He enjoys helping men to select suits, shirts, and other items. When he gets off work there, he comes to the hotel by the airport and drives the shuttle bus.
He has two full time jobs and gets only 4 to 5 hours sleep each night. In between he finds time to spend with his son.
I asked him why he's working so hard. His answer was simple. Larry noted that he had gotten himself into some debt in the past and that, with his two jobs, he will pay off those debts in about two years.
What a novel concept this is: A person who works two jobs in order to get out of debt. And he's doing it with an upbeat, positive spirit.
As Larry dropped me off at the hotel, he warmly said good buy to me.
Early the next morning, as I needed to get back to the airport for my flight to Charlotte, I asked the front desk lady about the shuttle bus. That's when, out of nowhere, Larry shows up again.
In amazement, I asked him why he wasn't at home getting some sleep. He related that the late-night driver didn't show up and he stayed all night. He was still in good spirits and he was about to go to his day job.
So, if I wanted to find a great example of what can be done to overcome financial challenges, I'd nominate Larry the Driver. He's working two jobs to improve his finances.
And he's doing so with a very good attitude.
I think Larry's got the right driving ambition.
A 'Get Out of Debt' Affirmation
I'm taking charge of my finances by reducing my expenses and finding more ways to pay off my debts.
