I am proud of our Creative Tutors franchise owners!
I am returning from a quick get away with my daughters. We went to Wyoming. Spending time away with my daughters always helps me clear my mind. When clearing my mind it helps me to draw attention to some of the important aspect of my world. Which brings to mind how much I enjoy my franchise owners and how proud I am of each of them. I try not to hover like a parent over young children....but I can't help but feel a similar feeling of the proud parent when thinking of our Creative Tutors franchisees! I will try to explain....
Follow up:
Who are my franchise owners and why do I appreciate them so much? We have all come together to live this very "Big Dream" that started in 1999! I have not listed anyone in any particular order...no favoritism or special rankings because each owner has landed a special place in my heart. Here it goes...
The Ogeltree's, Cy-Fair, Texas http://www.creativetutors.com/southtexas/blog1.php
Passion for children, family and living life to it's fullest drives Johnny and Quinita to support families in their community by helping children reach their potential and ability levels.....growing Creative Tutors and putting a foothold into the Houston Marketplace helps the Ogeltree's reach their personal passion by participating in the improvement of their community! One of my key objectives in developing Creative Tutors was to improve the communities in which we all live and share a responsibility for.
Laurie Gaines, Highland Park/Dallas http://www.creativetutors.com/dallas/blog1.php she has a passion to help all children. She has a special desire to support the special needs child and helping them receive the best services through the public school system. However, when that is not the best path her ability to seek alternative options such as home schooling or private school options is not unfamiliar territory to her. Laurie has a keen ability to understand exactly what the child needs. One of my key objectives in developing Creative Tutors was to allow parents options that meet the individual needs of their child and family.
David Pulsipher http://www.creativetutors.com/allen/blog1.php has a special place in my heart as he is the instructor that helped my own daughter buckle down to get busy loving Algebra I.... she has never loved math and I saw how David was able to push her through her fear and develop a love of math. David has also shown me personally his passion on helping students and their families find how to best support Gifted and Talented students move beyond frustration to success. One of our students wrote a blog message about homework http://www.creativetutors.com/b2evo/blog1.php?s=i+hate+homework&sentence=AND&submit=Search and this particular student is now preforming at a very high level of success due to the team that David put together to support this gifted student. One of my key objectives in developing Creative Tutors was to allow opportunity for GT students to excel beyond the restrictions of the traditional classroom.
Cheryl and Steve Chancelor http://www.creativetutors.com/frisco/blog1.php and http://www.creativetutors.com/norwest/blog1.php The Chancelor's are both educators passionate about kids K through 12. As an elementary reading specialist Cheryl provides key insight to parents with students that have reading issues such as reading fluency and comprehension or Dyslexia... As a parent of a dyslexic student and I am a dyslexic adult....I completely understand the challenges Cheryl helps parents face with their children during the early reading years and the fear parents face in supporting a child with such needs. Steve is a high school Advanced Placement Instructor and High School Football Coach... his keen ability to motivate students and keep their eyes on advanced education is a gift that the students that he supports are very lucky to connect with. As a small business owner, I have felt the encouragement that Steve has provided to me and I am grateful for his well positioned and well timed words. His enthusiasm about Creative Tutors is always a welcome to my heart and my mind. Both Cheryl and Steve support students to achieve and succeed. One of my key objectives in developing Creative Tutors was to provide to students educators that passionately support them in reaching their goals and to provide a positive impact in their lives to create a lasting impression helping students find their personal compass in life.
Cherrie Kilby http://www.creativetutors.com/allenlove/blog1.php I have known Cherrie Kilby for almost 10 years. She started with Creative Tutors as one of our special education instructors and then now a franchisee....she has a passion for children with special needs and especially the children from the Autism Spectrum hold a special place in her heart... Cherrie has a keen ability to develop IEP's that push the school district to help children receive the benefit of the services afforded to them through funding from IDEA http://idea.ed.gov/. One of my key objectives in developing Creative Tutors was to provide parents with a resource to review and evaluate the IEP and to help parents to understand the ARD process. Early learning on the part of the parent allows for the student to have the best services our public school system can provide.
Jan Coltrain-Sapp http://www.creativetutors.com/plano/blog1.php I have known Jan Coltrain-Sapp first as an acquaintance through my husband's work and then as a client when Jan needed support for her own daughter....thus I have known Jan prior to 1999 when Creative Tutors opened it's doors. When Creative Tutors was branching into the franchise industry Jan Coltrain-Sapp was brave enough to step into Creative Tutors as our first franchise owner. Her passion to return to education coupled with her business passion has helped to launch the Creative Tutors concept benefiting students and families in my community as well as her own. One of my key objectives in developing Creative Tutors was to support the families in my community and it has been rewarding to work side by side with Jan in our community providing a service that changes because of the educators we work with and the ripple effect that touches each student we serve.
Kim Ashby http://www.creativetutors.com/northcarolina/blog1.php Kim is one of our newest additions to Creative Tutors and she is my older sister. Kim brings a passion and understanding about home schooling that can only come from experience. She has home schooled all three of her sons and her oldest is now in college. Kim and I have very similar work style but never in my wildest dreams would I have ever thought that working with Kim would be as satisfying as it has turned out to be. It is thrilling to see that she has joined my Creative Tutors family after I have made my way for 10 years. It seemed appropriate to discuss having her join me as I decided that my system was ready to support those interested in joining our team from a distance outside of Texas. Kim is driven to help me grow Creative Tutors and establish a foothold in Carolina! One of my key objectives in developing Creative Tutors was to support educators in a business where they would be able to impact their family as well as their community. Never has it seemed more satisfying that my original business dream would hit so close to home.
Brad James http://www.creativetutors.com/colorado/blog1.php I grew up in a military family, my dad was in the Army. When I married my husband, he spent the first 3 years of our marriage in the US Navy and has recently reached retirement years as a reservist. Brad has a passion for community and supporting our ability to affect the students in our community to improve the standards and options children have. Brad James has spend time in underdeveloped nations and has a determined attitude in supporting our nations children reach their ability and potential. One of my key objectives in developing Creative Tutors was to bridge what I knew of life from under privileged countries that I lived in, to support children from under privileged US communities and when Brad joined Creative Tutors he pursues a place in our community where his experience as an Air Force Reserve Pilot can impact the nation he helps to protect.
Sue Waite-Langley http://www.creativetutors.com/utah/blog1.php I have worked with Sue since 2001 and she came on board to support the many different needs of a small growing company. As a single parent widowed with two small children Sue was a joy to bring into the fold of my personal passion. She brought with her business skills that I did not have and a personality that challenged my every step. Her heart and desire to help grow Creative Tutors has always been a driving force in our relationship. Best yet she has a strong desire to support the needs of the Gifted and Talented and she has experienced firsthand the frustrations lacking in the services public school provided to these exceptionally gifted children. Couple with a desire to keep the "Arts" alive Sue emerged herself and her time in supporting the arts. When her own daughters were excepted to the University of Utah, she had no family roots that tied her to the Dallas, Texas area....Sue was my first option in helping Creative Tutors grow outside of the state and she pioneered our cause opening Creative Tutors in a marketplace that neither of us had experienced. While keeping her own family top of mind and connected as she moved to Utah. One of my key objectives in developing Creative Tutors was to make Creative Tutors a national company and then an international company.... Sue brings her passion to this pursuit in all aspects of our company management as well as her local business.
Susan Allen http://www.creativetutors.com/grapevine/blog1.php and Bryan Beene are both new to Creative Tutors and although they are both in the launching phase of their franchises it is a join to begin to know these two owners. They are sister and brother and will experience the joy of business as another development in their relationship. One of my key objectives in developing Creative Tutors was to connect friends and family in a business where we all are joined as a business family. Our team has many family and friend connections. Laurie Gaines and Cheryl and Steve Chancelor are brother and sister in-laws. Bryan Beene and Steve Chancelor work together in the same High School and again, Bryan Beene and Susan Allen are brother and sister. Lastly, Kim and I are sisters. We are well on our way to connecting family and friends throughout our system.
I enjoy the relationships I am developing with the Creative Tutors franchise owners. Our foundation is strong and welcoming. I hope that you consider an opportunity with Creative Tutors and in becoming a part of our family.
