Welcome 2010
I am pulled up by my computer drinking hot tea from my Timmy's Tutor cartoon mug! Sunday reading of Education Week and I have the TV on in the background listening to Fox News
What caught my attention in Education Week was an article titled, "Reading Aloud to Teens Gains Favor" By Mary Ann Zehr. Basically, we all know teachers in elementary school are reading to their students. It has been proven to improve literacy. So why not include reading aloud to your students in middle school and high school? So that is just what is happening today! Some teachers are reading aloud in school it seems to help low preforming students make the grade. Something to consider and something to implement!
Onto Fox News. Haiti Rescue efforts continue, with Bill Clinton and George W. Bush at the forefront for fund raising efforts to help the citizens of Haiti. The world leaders will play a major roll in helping the devastated country find international funds to rebuild Haiti. It is my hope that during this effort the infrastructure can be put in place to build a foundation that prevents government corruption. The Haiti political officials must take strong action to build back their political infrastructure without corruption. The citizens must have opportunity and the ability to improve their lifestyle! Opportunity and hope is in just as great demand as for the need of buildings, food and clean water.
Massachusetts politics and who will win; Obama stumps for Democrat Martha Coakley and Republication Scott Brown continues to press forward. Tight race keeps viewers guessing! Voters will be out on Tuesday 1/19/2010 and their voices will be heard. Will there be real change?
Back tomorrow!
